The Business Value Game published

Have you ever wondered where those “Business Value” numbers in the XP Game came from? Have you ever wondered what salespeople, product managers and onsite customers do? Then Vera & Pascal have a new game for you.

The Business Value Game

In the game you play the roles of salespeople, developers and accountants to try and deliver features to customers so that your company can make money. The current version takes about 90 minutes to play. We received lots of ideas to extend the game to 120 minutes.
The game is published at http://www.xp.be/businessvaluegame.html

Like the XP Game, the Business Value Game is licensed as Creative Commons, so you can use and remix it.

I have played a tryout at Agile 2008 in Toronto and I think this game will be even a bigger hit that the XP Game. Way to go Vera & Pascal.

Resistance as a resource at agile 2008 (or almost)

One of the great sessions I missed at Agile 2008 was Resistance as a resource from Dale

They had a rerun but even then I decided to go for another session.

Luckily Lasse has already given a similar session at XP Day London a few years ago.

LinkedIn new Group policy.

I have received a mail from Linkedin about their new group policy. You can only be part of 50 groups. Sounds fine, until I read the part that I am already part of + 80 groups. What? (At this moment they have not yet updated their Group FAQ. It still talks about as many groups as you want)

Oh, yeah, a lot of them are the same kind of group because LinkedIn did not allow us to search for groups; So I’m part of a at least a dozen of Scrum groups.

I propose the group owners of these groups contact each otter, select one group, and then all become group owners of all of this one group and accept everyone in that one group.

(Or one group fro scrum master, one for scrum practitioner etc…)

Prepping for Agile 2008

After Agile 2008, I will be focusing on finding a new project management function starting in September. So I will probably blog less…

(As you might have guessed I have more time during holidays then while working on tight projects.)
